I learned last night that two of my family members died. One mature in age, the other young by today’s standards. It made me think.
We are so busy living we sometimes forget we have to die, and unlike those in the Bible’s Old Testament who lived to be hundreds of years old, life is still short. James 4: 14 You who say today or tomorrow we will [do this or that] …Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE? You are but a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Physical death (unless you are one of the fortunate ones to be caught up in the Rapture) will come to each of us. It is like the second coming of Christ; we do not know the day, the hour, nor the time, but it shall surely come. Are you prepared? Are you afraid of dying? If your number rolled this day, do you know with certainty where your soul shall rest for eternity? The choice is Heaven or Hell. Are you prepared?
John 15: 16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 5: 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Matthew 19: 16 – 17 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Death – Are you prepared? Do you know where your soul shall rest? Make the correct eternal choice.
If you haven’t already, make Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour. Ask Him to come into your heart. Study God’s Word, the Bible…do not part from what it teaches. There is life and much joy in God’s Word. Learn to hear and listen to the voice of God, for He does indeed speak to each of us. And when you hear and listen, then obey. James 1: 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
I leave you with Ecclesiastes 12: 13 – 14 Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment including every hidden thing whether it is good or evil.
