I heard this story the other day on some program on 105.7 KHCB (Keeping Him Close By), Christian radio. The story went like this:
A famous singer was asked to sing for this elite couple’s wedding at this grand place. She sang at the wedding and later when she and her husband stood, elegantly attired, peering into this beautifully decorated reception, the door guard asked her name. When she gave her name, the door guard indicated that she was not on the list for entry. As others stood behind, she and her husband awaiting their entry, the singer confused and embarrassed, looked to her husband and said to the door guard, “There must be some mistake, I am a guest and was invited to sing at the wedding.” The door guard, again, asked for her name, again searched the list and replied: “I am sorry. Your name is not on the list and you are not allowed inside.” He then called someone to escort the couple to the service elevator and see them out. While on the service elevator her husband inquired, “What just happened here?” She embarrassingly replied, “I was so busy that when I received the RSVP for the reception, I did not reply. I assumed that because I was the invited singer, and a guest, I was automatically included for the reception and therefore did not need to reply.”
Just a thought, after singing at the grand wedding (life), will your name be on the list to enter the grand and beautiful reception (Heaven’s gate)?
Father, your word says in John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life and in Romans 10:13 for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved and in Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21 everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Your word is truth and salvation is ours if we but choose to call on your name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
