The great, and good, thing about OWN’s Greenleaf series is Shirley Caesar’s singing of “Satan We’re Gonna Tear Your Kingdom Down” So distinct is the song that I have the video bookmarked on my cell. Shirley Caesar is truly anointed with a voice designed to glorify our Lord.
Please note that I am not endorsing the viewing of Greenleaf, but the theme song of the series literally gives me chills every time I hear it. I’m moved by its rhythm: Marching, An army standing strong, Singing a bold declaration of not what needs to be done, but what we are doing: Satan, we are gonna tear/pray your kingdom down! I sing along. I, too, march as I am reminded that The God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet.
Satan is at work, but you know what – we, those prayer warriors, those standing watch in the watch tower, those crying out in the wilderness, we who are called by a mighty God, we are gonna tear Satan’s kingdom down. Yes, We are gonna tear it down. We have to. Too much is at stake. Our families, especially our children. We gotta pray. Time is setting upon us.
Father, you knew when Satan was cast from heaven that a day would come when we would have to pray. You knew – You know that we as mothers would have to pray over our families, our children; that deacons would need to pray over the church for the protection of the church – to pray Satan’s kingdom down not only in the world, but in the church.
Father, not discounting anyone’s prayers, I truly feel that ain’t nothing more powerful than a praying woman. So let us pray and when we don’t know what to pray, Holy Spirit I ask that you guide our tongue in prayer and intercede for us when the need arises.
So Father as is our days, so is our strength. Let us not grow weary in prayer. So much is going on in the world. You knew that we, in Your might, would have to stand strong against a mighty foe. But God, You have given us victory in advance. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God indeed!! We pray from that position of victory in the Blood of Christ Jesus. Give Your disciples, Your children, a boldness to preach Your Word, for who knows You better than Your children, Your dearly beloved? If we don’t speak, then who will? Oh Father, let your church stand strong and mighty. Guide us in light and truth. In the blood of Christ Jesus we so pray. Amen.
