Hello all! May God’s favor be bestowed upon you and yours and may all your prayers be answered in accordance to God’s will for your lives! Amen!
GOD IS FAITHFUL!
Having gone through some stuff, with a word of encouragement, my sister-in-law sent me a text message with just those three words … God is Faithful – and I recall thinking hmmm and repeating the words to myself… God is Faithful. I was in awe of those words. I’d heard those words before. I’d seen those words time and time again in scripture, but with her text, those words took on new meaning.

From Tony Evans’ sermon on Forgiveness – March 9, 2014, based on Colossians 3:13 – Forgiving each other.
Just as the Lord forgives, we should also forgive. What allows us to forgive is that we recognize that we are forgiven for our wrongs in Christ Jesus. If we lose sight that we have been forgiven, then it makes us almost impossible to forgive. Forgiveness – It is the choice to release a person of an offense committed against you. In the spirit of unforgiveness, we are being held hostage in our circumstances, in our relationships – by our emotions. The devil knows that he can control us because we cannot move forward because of our struggle with forgiveness. To refuse to forgive is to burn a bridge that you will need to cross, if not today, then one day.

Father, I know you love me for it is not written that I am the righteousness of God in Christ; am I not your beloved child; your very special possession for have I not chosen you as my Lord and savior? Art thou not my salvation?
I know you are with me. I know you are for me. I know you abide in me. I know you are HE who sustains me. I know there is an appointed time for everything under the sun and in my life.
Father, you who have collected my tears; you who have counted the strands of hair on my head; you who knew me and formed me before the foundation of the earth – does not your word say there is no shame for those whose trust and hope is in you? Father your word says surely you will bless me. Your word says that you will increase me and my children more and more. Your word says that I am your special possession. Your word says ask and it shall be given unto you. This I declare unto me for that is what you have promised me and Lord, I am holding you to it. Continue reading →
Recently, music icon, Michael Jackson, died unexpectedly. Some say he died before his time. I disagree. Just this week, an airbus crashed in the Indian Ocean. The only survivor was a five year old little boy. Upon hearing of this event, my daughter said to me, “I wonder what his purpose in life is?” The mere fact that he survived, under incredible circumstances, is a miracle. How does this little survivor fit into the realm of things? What history is he to create?
The Bible says we are predestined. It also says that God knew and formed us before the foundations of the earth. Scripture also says that He will perfect that which concerns us. God’s Word also says that we have a specific purpose, but our primary purpose is to give God praise and glory. Ephesians 1: 11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.

A few weeks ago I was so ill, I thought I was dying. As I lay on my bed thinking this must be my end, I did as Job did, I prayed for my children and my grandchildren, thinking “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” I wanted all to be well with them should this be my time to enter into God’s glory. It wasn’t my time, and during and after my recovery, I rejoiced in God’s goodness, especially His mercy.
The last few weeks have been tough for a lot of us in the Houston Metroplex area. We have had to deal with Hurricane IKE and its aftermath. But, in all the circumstance of Hurricane IKE, God showed His mercy. For all that Hurricane IKE was, it could have been worse. I recalled Philippians 4: 4 – 7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Continue reading →
