I heard this song this morning and my heart rejoiced in God’s goodness, His warmth and tender mercies. I lifted my hands in praise to an Almighty God, a faithful God. He who says, I will do ALL that I have promised you! All God’s children singing Glory, Glory, Hallelujah – He Reigns, He Reigns.
May your spirit be filled with great joy this day! May your worries, anxieties and fears be cast upon the cross. May the fire of your faith be stirred up and may you stand strong as the cedars of Lebanon.
May all God’s children sing Glory, Glory, Hallelujah, Yes – He reigns. Let us make a joyful noise unto the Lord! No rock shall praise God in our stead. Open our mouths and fill it with praise. Let all God’s children sing Glory, Glory! In Jesus name, we so pray! Amen.
Did you happen to look, or walk outside this day, and see what a beautiful day it is? The weather is great: the sky is beautiful blue, and the breeze is cool. It made me want to laugh, to smile, to open my arms wide and almost cry. Such a beautiful day! Did you happen to feel the hope that is in the air? Do you feel the changing of the season? This morning, as I awoke to the brisk air, I fell on my knees in thanksgiving, praising God for such a wonderful and pleasing gift. Does Scripture not say that He has given us everything for our enjoyment?
How can we not look at a day like today and not rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord has made? Sure, the stock markets around the world are tumbling, people are losing material things, and people are struggling with whom to vote for in the upcoming presidential elections; we don’t know what tomorrow holds, some of us are sick and dealing with health issues, some have financial and family issues, BUT how can you not see God’s handy work when you see and feel a day like today? How can you not see God’s controlling hand in how things function and how they work together for the good of those who serve the Lord? How can you not see the hope that God has for His people? I say this day, as in Psalm 118: 24 This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. James 1: 16 – 17Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Today, as is everyday, is a good and perfect gift from He who sustains us.
Lord, no matter what happens, no matter what my circumstance, Your hand is at work. Let me rejoice and be glad in knowing full well that You are in control. Let me not be anxious for nothing, but let me look into the beautiful and lovely days and nights and see how wonderfully made everything is; how precisely everything flows together. Father, how you hold everything together. You make everything work. I just have to look into the night and see the stars and the moon to know this. I am reminded of Scripture which says that everything works together for the good of those who serve the Lord! For every breath I breathe, let me remember that You are the creator of all that is. Use me Lord, as You see fit. Holy Spirit of God, wrap Yourself around me and let me feel You. By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.
A few weeks ago I was so ill, I thought I was dying. As I lay on my bed thinking this must be my end, I did as Job did, I prayed for my children and my grandchildren, thinking “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” I wanted all to be well with them should this be my time to enter into God’s glory. It wasn’t my time, and during and after my recovery, I rejoiced in God’s goodness, especially His mercy.
The last few weeks have been tough for a lot of us in the Houston Metroplex area. We have had to deal with Hurricane IKE and its aftermath. But, in all the circumstance of Hurricane IKE, God showed His mercy. For all that Hurricane IKE was, it could have been worse. I recalled Philippians 4: 4 – 7Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Continue reading →
