Stuff Happens

Stuff happens. Life has its unexpected occurrences. I call them tweaks. We get sick, or someone near to us gets sick. One may go to the doctor for a check up and their tests come back not as expected. One travels to the grocery store and gets in an accident. We get sidetracked and do wrong and that can lead to other unpleasant stuff in our lives. For a time, we may lose our sense of well being and security.

On Friday, one of my boss’ best of friends, while performing his daily bike ride, so concentrating on his ride, ran head on into a parked delivery truck. He is, at present (for we know we serve a God who can change things) paralyzed. He is 56. My boss asked me to pray. I did. I am. I asked him to pray, too.

On Thursday afternoon, in broad daylight, one of our neighbors had her door kicked in, and she was robbed. Thanks to God, she wasn’t home. She is 83. You know what her response was? It wasn’t fear. It wasn’t anger. Her response was, “I’m not going to let stuff like that bother me. I’m not going to be around here much longer anyway.” Her response made me think.  Continue reading →

On Praying

God’s blessings upon you. My prayer for you is that your prayer to Him is answered and that you not forget to give much testimony about His goodness, His grace, and oh yes, His mercy. For how can others know of His goodness, His love, His answered prayers if we do not go forth into this world and tell others?

Ephesians 3: 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. When you pray, do not be a double minded man. Do not be unstable, but believe and do not doubt in Him who has given each of us salvation through His son, Jesus, and if you know Him, rest assured that when you come to Him as a child of His, know that He hears you and that your prayers (in accordance with His will and His timing and His purpose for your life) will indeed be answered. When you pray, humble yourself before God and pray in God’s promises to His children. When you pray in this manner, you are reminding God of what He said He would do for you, but, to pray in God’s promises, one must know Scripture, and to know Scripture, one must read the Bible. Isaiah 55: 11 …so is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Amen. Remember, His Word is truth.

Believe in your prayer and Him for your healing, your depression, your employment, your marriage, your direction, your finances, and your whatevers. Let Him deal with your enemies, those who do you wrong, for is it not written in Romans 8: 1there is no condemnation in those who believe on Christ Jesus? If God is for you, then who or what can be against you? Who indeed! Psalm 56: 11 What time I fear I shall trust in Him, for what can mere mortal man do unto me? What indeed! Place your trust in God who performs miracles!!!!! When you look up to God, who made the heavens and the earth, in perspective, does not your little whatevers seem minute? Place not your trust in mere man, but in God; He who made the heavens and the earth. What then would He not do for a child of His? Romans 4: 21 “…being fully persuaded that God [has] the power to do what He has promised.” His word does not lie. Mark 11: 24 – 25 “Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Ephesians 1: 18 – 19 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. And so it shall be for those who believe. I trust He hears your prayers and He answers them. I can honestly say He has answered all of mine. Matthew 7: 7 – 8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

 ***************************

Lord, Our Father, for all of us who have a request for You through Your son, Christ Jesus:  Lord, first of all, I give thanks for I know in my heart and in my being that without You I am naught. Lord, I thank for answered prayers and I thank You for my situations, for I know it could always be a lot worse than what it is. Lord, I thank You for trials and tribulations for I know as in James 1: 12blessed is that man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. I shall have victory over my circumstance! Amen.

prayTrials are only temporary. Lord, I thank You for that. I know that joy cometh in the morning, and I have but to call on You and know that You will not forsake me. You who knew and formed me before the foundations of the earth; You loved me so much that You gave me Your only son, Jesus, to hang on that cross at Calvary to bleed, suffer and die for me.

Lord, how much thanks can I give You for that good and perfect gift? How much can I open my mouth and praise Your wonderful name and the works of Your hand? Lord, how can I give back to You for all that You have given and will give unto me?

Lord, You do not change; Your promises are true; Your Word is light and I need but have the faith of a mustard seed and believe. I need but believe. James 1: 6 – 8   “… when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.
