A Mother’s Love

Hoping this day finds you and yours quite well and filled with great joy this day. Time seems to be passing truly fast. Mother’s day 2014 seemed like it was just yesterday and here it is again.

Joyce Meyer remarked today in her radio broadcast that she could not preach what she preaches had she not learned from the furnaces of affliction. As it relates to family, especially children, I must say that for me the burning of the fires of affliction mother's loveregarding a prodigal child, or children, is the most difficult testing of patience and unconditional love. For me it is harder than financial loss because the momentary (and I must say momentary because this I truly know … I serve God who is able to restore: Joel 2:25I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten” and reconcile and works all things out together (Romans 8:28 ) for the good of those who love him and serve him) loss allows for an opening of the condemnation of one’s heart, and the condemnation comes in the voice of … you must not have been a good mother, or, you must not have shown enough love, or, it must be me for why would they act the way they do, or,  have I done what scripture says in Colossians 3:21 “exasperated my children so that they have [lost] heart.” But I recall 1 John 3:20-21 and my hope is renewed “For if [my] heart condemns, God is greater than [my] heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if [my] heart condemn [me] not, then [I] have confidence toward God.” (Hallelujah!)   Continue reading →

What A Beautiful Day!

Did you happen to look, or walk outside this day, and see what a beautiful day it is? The weather is great:  the sky is beautiful blue, and the breeze is cool. It made me want to laugh, to smile, to open my arms wide and almost cry. Such a beautiful day! Did you happen to feel the hope that is in the air? Do you feel the changing of the season? This morning, as I awoke to the brisk air, I fell on my knees in thanksgiving, praising God for such a wonderful and pleasing gift. Does Scripture not say that He has given us everything for our enjoyment?

beautiful dayHow can we not look at a day like today and not rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord has made? Sure, the stock markets around the world are tumbling, people are losing material things, and people are struggling with whom to vote for in the upcoming presidential elections; we don’t know what tomorrow holds, some of us are sick and dealing with health issues, some have financial and family issues, BUT  how can you not see God’s handy work when you see and feel a day like today? How can you not see God’s controlling hand in how things function and how they work together for the good of those who serve the Lord? How can you not see the hope that God has for His people? I say this day, as in Psalm 118: 24  This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. James 1: 16 – 17  Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Today, as is everyday, is a good and perfect gift from He who sustains us.

Lord, no matter what happens, no matter what my circumstance, Your hand is at work. Let me rejoice and be glad in knowing full well 1prayerthat You are in control. Let me not be anxious for nothing, but let me look into the beautiful and lovely days and nights and see how wonderfully made everything is; how precisely everything flows together. Father, how you hold everything together. You make everything work. I just have to look into the night and see the stars and the moon to know this. I am reminded of Scripture which says that everything works together for the good of those who serve the Lord! For every breath I breathe, let me remember that You are the creator of all that is. Use me Lord, as You see fit. Holy Spirit of God, wrap Yourself around me and let me feel You. By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

The greatest sin I feel is that of indifference. Indifference shows no importance. It bestows little or no concern. For over a week on my new job, I passed by my fellow co-workers sitting at their desks and never acknowledged their existence. One day my spirit asked me how was it that when I passed by I looked straight ahead and not once did I turn and give my co-workers a nod or a hello? Why didn’t I acknowledge their existence?

indifference2How often in our daily walks do we come across situations and people where we look straight ahead and acknowledge no one or nothing? Ahead, we see an unfortunate person in unfortunate circumstances. As we come closer, what do we do? Do we even look at the person, or are we indifferent to their circumstance? When we hear of others in need … What do we do? Do we offer to help? Are we so vain of heart and spirit that we think that could not ever be us? Money is not a protector. Could not our circumstances change where we are on the other side, and we become the ones who are looked upon as having no importance? Continue reading →

Death – Are You Prepared?

I learned last night that two of my family members died. One mature in age, the other young by today’s standards. It made me think.

We are so busy living we sometimes forget we have to die, and unlike those in the Bible’s Old Testament who lived to be hundreds of years old, life is still short. purpose-life-life-purpose-706622James 4: 14 You who say today or tomorrow we will [do this or that] …Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE? You are but a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

Physical death (unless you are one of the fortunate ones to be caught up in the Rapture) will come to each of us. It is like the second coming of Christ; we do not know the day, the hour, nor the time, but it shall surely come. Are you prepared? Are you afraid of dying? If your number rolled this day, do you know with certainty where your soul shall rest for eternity? The choice is Heaven or Hell. Are you prepared?  Continue reading →

On Praying

God’s blessings upon you. My prayer for you is that your prayer to Him is answered and that you not forget to give much testimony about His goodness, His grace, and oh yes, His mercy. For how can others know of His goodness, His love, His answered prayers if we do not go forth into this world and tell others?

Ephesians 3: 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. When you pray, do not be a double minded man. Do not be unstable, but believe and do not doubt in Him who has given each of us salvation through His son, Jesus, and if you know Him, rest assured that when you come to Him as a child of His, know that He hears you and that your prayers (in accordance with His will and His timing and His purpose for your life) will indeed be answered. When you pray, humble yourself before God and pray in God’s promises to His children. When you pray in this manner, you are reminding God of what He said He would do for you, but, to pray in God’s promises, one must know Scripture, and to know Scripture, one must read the Bible. Isaiah 55: 11 …so is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Amen. Remember, His Word is truth.

Believe in your prayer and Him for your healing, your depression, your employment, your marriage, your direction, your finances, and your whatevers. Let Him deal with your enemies, those who do you wrong, for is it not written in Romans 8: 1there is no condemnation in those who believe on Christ Jesus? If God is for you, then who or what can be against you? Who indeed! Psalm 56: 11 What time I fear I shall trust in Him, for what can mere mortal man do unto me? What indeed! Place your trust in God who performs miracles!!!!! When you look up to God, who made the heavens and the earth, in perspective, does not your little whatevers seem minute? Place not your trust in mere man, but in God; He who made the heavens and the earth. What then would He not do for a child of His? Romans 4: 21 “…being fully persuaded that God [has] the power to do what He has promised.” His word does not lie. Mark 11: 24 – 25 “Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Ephesians 1: 18 – 19 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. And so it shall be for those who believe. I trust He hears your prayers and He answers them. I can honestly say He has answered all of mine. Matthew 7: 7 – 8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Lord, Our Father, for all of us who have a request for You through Your son, Christ Jesus:  Lord, first of all, I give thanks for I know in my heart and in my being that without You I am naught. Lord, I thank for answered prayers and I thank You for my situations, for I know it could always be a lot worse than what it is. Lord, I thank You for trials and tribulations for I know as in James 1: 12blessed is that man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. I shall have victory over my circumstance! Amen.

prayTrials are only temporary. Lord, I thank You for that. I know that joy cometh in the morning, and I have but to call on You and know that You will not forsake me. You who knew and formed me before the foundations of the earth; You loved me so much that You gave me Your only son, Jesus, to hang on that cross at Calvary to bleed, suffer and die for me.

Lord, how much thanks can I give You for that good and perfect gift? How much can I open my mouth and praise Your wonderful name and the works of Your hand? Lord, how can I give back to You for all that You have given and will give unto me?

Lord, You do not change; Your promises are true; Your Word is light and I need but have the faith of a mustard seed and believe. I need but believe. James 1: 6 – 8   “… when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.
