Recently, music icon, Michael Jackson, died unexpectedly. Some say he died before his time. I disagree. Just this week, an airbus crashed in the Indian Ocean. The only survivor was a five year old little boy. Upon hearing of this event, my daughter said to me, “I wonder what his purpose in life is?” The mere fact that he survived, under incredible circumstances, is a miracle. How does this little survivor fit into the realm of things? What history is he to create?

The Bible says we are predestined. It also says that God knew and formed us before the foundations of the earth. Scripture also says that He will perfect that which concerns us. God’s Word also says that we have a specific purpose, but our primary purpose is to give God praise and glory. Ephesians 1: 11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.

Jeremiah 29: 11-13

Jeremiah 29: 11 – 13  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Lord, I thank You for the plans You have made regarding my life. I know Your Word is truth. I know my life is purposed for something great within thy will. Guide my steps according to that plan. Lord, let me let You be the source of my being. My Lord! My God! My Strength! My All! In You, I trust all the day long. I am calling upon You. For those who are weary give 1prayerthem rest. For those who are lost in a far away country, let them come home. I come to You and pray to You. My Father, listen to me. Hear the cry of my voice, and let it be a sweet, sweet song in Your ear. Let me be strong and encouraged and filled with hope. What time I have been given, let what I do be good and pleasing to You. Let me make a positive difference in somebody’s life. Let me prayerfully intercede for someone in need. Lord, use me. Tell me what it is You want me to do for your glory and your honor. I shall praise Your name, for You are indeed worthy of so much more! By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Let Us Pray

Lord, I thank You this day for allowing me to know You and to love You. I thank You for using me as You see fit. I thank You for the beautiful days, the scent of flowers, the waves that roll unto the land and the sound of the ocean which echoes through a mere shell. I thank You for my trials and tribulations, my joy, my good health and my sound mind. I thank You for the wonderful gift of Your son, Jesus, who died on the cross for me. Who am I but a worm and so unworthy of Your goodness and Your mercy? Yet, You love me unconditionally.

Lord, I thank You for my blessings and for answered prayers. I thank You for the healing You have bestowed upon those who have asked for such healing. I thank You for hearing and answering the prayers of the many faceless people for whom I have prayed. prayI pray that You, as Scripture says, reveal Yourself to those that did not ask, for it is Your will that none perish and that all come to the light of salvation. You know the ones I have prayed for Lord; the oppressed, the dying, the lost and confused, those who rebel and run from You, those on drugs because they think their problems disappear but for a moment. Lord, I am but a mist in a vapor. How insignificant I am, but yet I, and others like me, are so important to You. Lord, You have chosen to save us all, if we but choose You!

Jesus. What a wonderful name! What power lies in Your name! Your dying on the cross gave me so much more than salvation. It gives me an opportunity to give testimony to others who are not fully aware of You about Your goodness, Your strength, Your unconditional love and Your forgiveness of sin. It allows me to preach the good gospel of Jesus Christ – to assist in bringing one lost soul to the body of Christ. James 5: 19 Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death … Lord, when I cannot speak the words in prayer to You, let my Spirit speak to You. Sometimes, there is so much to ask of You, so much for which to pray, and words fail me. But Lord, You know my needs, the needs of those around me, and the needs of Your children. I stand in faith knowing that my hope lies only in You and that what I ask for, in accordance with thine will and purpose, shall be granted unto me. Amen!

Lord, be with me this day. Let me be encouraged in Your Word. Guide me. Protect me. Be not far from me. Help me to bring someone to You. Forgive me of my sins. By the Blood of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

God’s grace, mercy and love upon all of us.
