What If

Hello all. Today is a most beautiful day. It feels and looks like perfection! Yesterday morning was quite a rainy day in Houston. While I am thankful for the rain, traffic is, well, another story! Driving to work amidst the rain and the traffic, I listened to a song by Fred Hammond. Sadly, I don’t know the name of the song, but the chorus is “Jesus, I need you…don’t pass me by.”  It made me think, so I went to Scripture.

The song mirrors Luke 18: 35 – 39:  a blind man hears the crowd and asks the passersby what is going on. He is told that Jesus of Nazareth is passing by, and he begins to shout “Jesus, have mercy on me.” Others near tell him to be quiet and ‘rebuke’ his shouting, but he continues to cry out to Jesus.

I began to wonder what I would do if I heard Jesus was passing by. Continue reading →

Our Father, Who Art in Heaven …

Last week, while praying the Lord’s Prayer, I began to associate different pieces of Scripture with each phrase. I hope you enjoy these verses as I did in searching and selecting them. Again, my hope, and my prayer is that these pieces of Scripture – of the Bible – of God’s Word, allow you to draw nearer to Him so that He may draw nearer to you.

Romans 8: 15 -17 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
