Rejoice In The Lord

A few weeks ago I was so ill, I thought I was dying. As I lay on my bed thinking this must be my end, I did as Job did, I prayed for my children and my grandchildren, thinking “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” I wanted all to be well with them should this be my time to enter into God’s glory. It wasn’t my time, and during and after my recovery, I rejoiced in God’s goodness, especially His mercy.

rejoiceThe last few weeks have been tough for a lot of us in the Houston Metroplex area. We have had to deal with Hurricane IKE and its aftermath. But, in all the circumstance of Hurricane IKE, God showed His mercy. For all that Hurricane IKE was, it could have been worse. I recalled Philippians 4: 4 – 7  Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Continue reading →
